JACE®-7 Update

We are pleased to announce that we have been working to further optimize the JACE-7 platform with NiagaraAX

Major updates include improved cover fitment, removal of USB ports, and a new flash memory chipset. In addition to the hardware changes, the upcoming release of NiagaraAX 3.7 will also offer enhancements exclusive to the JACE-7.

The front cover molding for the JACE-7 has been revised to improve fitment. Previously, refitting the cover was a bit difficult due to tension in the material if left off for extended periods. The new molding will resist deforming while the cover is not installed.

The USB ports have been removed since support for the USB protocol is limited in QNX. Excluding the unused components will alleviate confusion with functionality, and allows Tridium to maintain competitive pricing on the JACE-7.

NiagaraAX 3.7 has increased the maximum number of files supported in the JACE-7. The unit will now be capable of storing more history, alarm, and trend files-more than in any previous versions of Niagara. To optimize the Niagara file system for the JACE -7, a new flash chip has also been selected that better tailors with the Niagara architecture and ensures parts availability. The 512MB chipset also accommodates for higher flash memory utilization.

The JACE-7 (Version 2) is available now and is expected to begin shipping mid Q2 2012 once the current stock is depleted. Part numbers will not change for the new revision. Updated JACE manuals and installation guides are available through Niagara Central. This is a functional replacement to previous revisions and is compatible with stations used on older JACE-7s.

A Big Thank You

On behalf of the entire Tridium team globally, we want to thank you for being part of reaching a new milestone with Niagara.

Today, the Niagara Framework surpassed 300,000 instances deployed in the market. It seems like it was just yesterday when we exceeded the 200,000 mark. In fact it was August, 2010 in which that occurred.

Wow, time has just flown by and we could not have done it without folks like you! Next stop, 400,000!

See you at the Summit!

Regards,

Marc Petock
Vice President, Global Marketing & Communications
